Since 1956, Rathbun Insurance has been rooted on the corner of Saginaw and Pine Street, right here in Lansing, Michigan. For two years, then owners of Rathbun Insurance leased this building. In 1958, Rathbun Insurance took a bold step forward, purchasing the building and solidifying our agency’s commitment to the people of Lansing. This place has been more than an office; it's been a home. Over the decades, it has grown and evolved, just like the Rathbun family and the countless clients we've served.

Today, we're excited to announce the next chapter in our agency’s story. Rathbun Insurance will invest over half a million dollars into renovating our building. This isn’t just a decision about bricks and mortar; it’s a choice to reinvest in Lansing, to honor our heritage, and to look to the future. We believe in the Saginaw Street corridor and want to be part of its renewal, preserving a piece of history while creating an environment that supports our team, clients, and the greater Lansing community.

The time has come for our building to reflect both the evolving needs of our agency and the high standards of service we provide. For David Finkbeiner and Ben Rathbun, this moment represents a pivotal choice: to invest here, or consider relocation. Moving to a new, modern space would be easier and less costly. But that’s not who we are. We’re committed to Lansing, to this building, and to our community’s legacy. Staying on Saginaw and Pine allows us to honor our roots and look forward to a bright future here in Lansing.

The Transformation Ahead

This renovation is about more than just aesthetics; it’s about usability, accessibility, and growth. The two primary floors of our building will be reimagined to enhance every aspect of the space, making it more accessible to staff and guests alike. Our staff will have updated workstations and expanded capacity with eight additional workstations. This added room means we’re setting the stage to create more jobs, strengthening our team as we continue to serve you.

While these changes take place, our dedication to providing exceptional service remains unwavering. Tentatively the renovation will begin November 15 with an expected occupancy slated for April 2025. During renovations, our team will work remotely, ensuring you experience the same level of care and support.
