It is with great pleasure and pride that we share the participation of two of our staff members, Heather Cooper-Kim, Producer, and Laura Stoken, Chief Operating Officer, in the 2024 Rosie the Riveter Day celebration held at the State Capitol in Lansing on March 21. It was an honor to hear from many speakers including Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Mayor Andy Shor, and many other stories of Rosie's. What an amazing, inspiring event!

For those unfamiliar, Rosie the Riveter stands as an allegorical cultural icon in the United States, symbolizing the women who played pivotal roles in factories and shipyards during World War II. These remarkable women stepped into roles traditionally held by men, producing munitions and war supplies while the male workforce served in the military.
The iconic "We Can Do It!" poster featuring Rosie the Riveter has become synonymous with the economic empowerment of women. Rosie the Riveter's influence
transcended national boundaries, with similar images of women war workers appearing in countries such as Britain and Australia. Her legacy continues to inspire generations, serving as a testament to the strength, resilience, and capability of women in times of adversity.
