At Rathbun Insurance, we believe in the power of education, mentorship, and community engagement. Last night, we had the distinct honor of attending the Native American Hispanic Business Students’ (NAHBS) 9th Annual Professional Development Dinner at the Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University.

This exclusive event is designed to help students enhance their professional skills and foster new relationships with business professionals, and it did just that. Ben Rathbun (CEO) and Laura Stoken (COO) of Rathbun Insurance spent several hours chatting with the students—and boy, are they incredible! From business to economics, finance to veterinary medicine, and even psychology, these students showcased their knowledge, confidence, and passion through their impressive presentations.

The night provided an excellent opportunity for networking, sharing insights, and building long-lasting connections. Attendees participated in insightful presentations on etiquette, followed by an engaging case competition, where judges played a key role in evaluating the students' work.

The evening kicked off with Ricardo Morales, President of NAHBS, delivering an incredible and heartfelt opening speech. Ricardo shared his personal journey of growing up primarily speaking

Spanish at home and in school before finding himself at Michigan State University. Through all the change and challenges, he found a home with NAHBS, which ultimately led him to become president of the organization. His story of resilience and leadership was truly inspiring.

Additionally, Ed Tillett, the Director of Multicultural Business Programs, gave impactful remarks, recognizing that despite tough times, the efforts of these students continue to shine, and the hope for the future is bright. His words underscored the dedication and drive of these young professionals as they prepare to enter the professional world.

The energy in the room was electric, and the dedication of every participant was evident. Rathbun Insurance is so proud of these students and grateful to be part of events like this. Investing in the next generation is a priority for us, and we remain committed to supporting educational initiatives that create opportunities for growth and success.

We extend our deepest gratitude to NAHBS, the Eli Broad College of Business, and all the students who made this evening so special. The future is bright, and we are excited to continue fostering relationships with these talented individuals!
