Ben Rathbun leads Rathbun Insurance as the third-generation CEO, continuing the legacy of a family agency founded in 1956 by his grandfather’s two brothers. At Rathbun, Being There Matters Most.

Ben serves on the Advisory Board of the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum at Michigan State University. He is a Community Board Member and former Support Group Facilitator at Ele’s Place and serves as Membership Chair for the Rotary Club of Lansing.

Ben founded the For Good Foundation in 2021 to honor his father’s legacy by supporting meaningful initiatives in the Lansing community. In addition, he is an active member of the National African American Insurance Association of Detroit/Michigan and a past chair of the Michigan Association of Insurance Agents’ Young Agents Council.

Ben has received multiple honors, including the RISE Professionals 35 Under 35 and the Rising Star Award from Insurance Business America in 2023. He was named Young Agent of the Year in 2020 by the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America and earned their Dan Fulwider Award for Community Involvement in 2022. Ben is proud that Rathbun Insurance calls Lansing home and enjoys spending his best time changing the world with his wife, Lillian. He claims to make the best bruschetta, enjoys time at his grand piano, and lives by the belief that success lies in showing up—and being there when it matters most.
